Knowledge of Java collections framework, software algorithms, possibly with SQL & JDBC/database programming, drawing custom graphics & components, source control systems (e.g. CVS, Subversion, SourceSafe), modern development environment (e.g. Eclipse), Apache Ant, etc. Permanent position with starting salary in the range of £50,000 for qualified candidates. Developers - Structured Programming in ActionScript 3Attention ActionScript specialists - the large-scale DataPlayer exportable Flash data visualisation and navigation features of Omniscope have now been updated to ActionScript 3. We are looking for a dedicated AS3 Junior Developer who also has extensive object-oriented, componentised structured programming (ideally Java) experience to help us take our award-winning DataPlayer Flash technology to the next level. Experience in large, multi-person full-cycle development projects (not necessarily using AS3) would be highly valued. Permanent position with starting salary £30-32,000 depending on AS3 proficiency, subject to review after 3 months. Software Quality Assurance & SupportWe are seeking a highly-motivated, non-developer with experience in end-user mouse-based software testing regimes and managing client-facing support. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing escalated phone/e-mail support and for testing of our flagship Omniscope application and related Flash DataPlayer features. Responsibilities will include supervising the 'triage' of all incoming issues, resolving most, prioritising and escalating the more technical/complex issues appropriately. You will monitor and respond to the more technical questions appearing on the online User Forum, maintain the KnowledgeBase, route and track incoming bug reports and open support issues. This is a permanent position with an initial six-months contract. Starting salary £25-28,000 subject to review after 3 months. Software Documentation, Support and TrainingWe are also seeking a generalist accustomed to working with computers and interested in being thoroughly trained in all aspects of typical business user data manipulation, analysis, visualisation, presentation and publishing, becoming expert in creating Omniscope and DataPlayer files for demos and training. You are probably somewhat advanced in your knowledge of Excel formulae, with perhaps some experience using a database like Access. This position involves maintaining the online User Guide and most questions posted on our User Forum, managing phone/e-mail enquiries from customers and distributors, providing initial contact/first line support for common issues, while managing the license administration, billing and collections process. Some knowledge of maintaining web pages using our Drupal CMS would also be useful. A very rigorous logical mind and fanatical attention to detail, combined with very precise written English is essential. Opportunity for eventual promotion to Omniscope Trainer and/or Salesperson.
