Omniscope EditionsOmniscope EditionsOmniscope free Viewer
Key features differentiating the free Viewer from activated Editions are highlighted in the comparison chart.
Note that there are two types of Omniscope files; publishable .IOK and shareable .IOM workgroup files:
Omniscope DataPlayer Studio (coming soon)Views .IOK and .IOM files created by others, imports data from spreadsheets/.IOM files and creates Flash DataPlayers for documents and the web. Ideal for creating and maintaining DataPlayers routinely published to the web and in documents. Essentially just a DataPlayer publishing/updating tool, this basic edition lacks many views and features and will only save only new .IOM project files in their working view configuration (Table and/or Map Views only) Omniscope Standard - imports spreadsheet data and saves .IOM filesOpens only data files (spreadsheets, .CSV, etc.), navigates, analyses, edits and saves the data as shareable Manage your data files visually, incorporating maps, images, and links to documents and the web. Unlike browser-based reporting, 'hybrid' web/local Omniscope files work offline, yet can be linked to online resources (including web pages and associated web services). Formula fields permit mathematical modelling with slider-driven sensitivity analysis and multi-input simulations that display in real time. Shareable .IOM files permit internal data management, work flow and reporting solutions employing a mix of Enterprise, Professional DP and Standard Editions at a lower cost-per-seat compared with many other business intelligence and reporting solutions. More on the business case... Omniscope Professional - .IOK, database refresh, multi-page presentations & DataPlayer exportSaves both publishable Assemble, refresh and analyse structured data sets from many sources, prepare presentations using multiple tabbed Report Pages within each .IOK/.IOM file. Report Pages are interactive, highly-visual, multi-view tabbed pages that display like presentation slide shows. Omniscope-based business intelligence and reporting solutions can employ any a mix of Enterprise, Professional, Standard and read/query-only free Viewer Editions, resulting in a much lower cost-per-seat compared with many other business intelligence/reporting solutions. More on the business case... Omniscope Enterprise - automates publication, distribution and refresh of .IOK,.IOM and Flash DataPlayersSaves both publishable Scheduler- Periodically checks linked data sources (databases and spreadsheets) to refresh templated .IOK Source reporting files and distribute copies of the updated Source files to users. Scheduler-based refresh mode is best for standardised reports produced on a regular basis for a fixed distribution list. For more information on the Scheduler, consult our Knowledge Base. Generator-Listens on a port for the presence of new .XML data files (transformed to Visokio schema) generated by your back-end systems. When such a file appears, the data is imported, applied to .IOK Template file(s) and copies of the updated .IOK/.IOM file(s) are then distributed in various ways. Generator-based customised data set refresh mode is best for creating personalised reports 'on-demand' whenever needed. For more information on the Generator, consult our Knowledge Base. Data Security and Refresh Options:
Enterprise Edition is designed to support commercial publishing to large audiences as well as publishing to internal workgroups. Commercial publishing agreements can include the ability to create .IOK/.IOM files that automatically refresh over the web in real time even to users with unactivated free Viewers. See licensing options for more information on commercial publishing. For information on pricing, please contact us. *Hardware requirements vary with the size of the data sets: a typical 32-bit Windows PC with at least 256 MB RAM and at least a 2.0 GHz CPU will handle average size data sets. For large data sets (roughly 5 million cells = rows x columns) 512 MB of RAM is the minimum. For very large files (over 16-18 million cells), 1.0 or even 2.0 GB of RAM may be required. 64-bit machines running 64-bit Java with more than 2.0 GB of RAM will handle even larger files comfortably. For more information on Omniscope scaling and performance, and 64-bit operation consult our Knowledge Base. Omniscope Top |
