InstallationOmniscope InstallationOmniscope is a Java-based application. This means that you must have a version of the free Java virtual machine (JVM) installed on your computer before you can run Omniscope. The full Omniscope installer also installs a dedicated version of Java that only Omniscope uses as a private virtual machine or 'PVM'. Omniscope can also use the version of Java you already have installed and in use by other applications, provided you have Java 5 or later (the current Java version is 6). In general, we recommend always installing the version of Java that comes bundled with Omniscope as a PVM. To see which version of Java you currently have installed, click here. Omniscope licensing is per-account. This means that although you must login with Administrator privileges to install Omniscope, you should log out of the Administrator account and log in with to intended User account BEFORE activating Omniscope. If you don't, the activated Omniscope Professional will be available in the Administrator account, but the User account installation will remain a read/query-only Viewer. Before re-building a machine, re-formatting a drive, or moving an activation key to another machine, FIRST de-activate the Omniscope and recover the key. You can then re-use the key on the new/re-built machine. You are allowed to move a key between different machines a maximum of three times. This does not apply to moving keys between accounts on the same machine.
