Omniscope DataPlayers

Exportable Flash DataPlayers bring documents and web pages to life

DataPlayers are innovative combinations of data, images, maps, and interactive filters in standard Flash SWF files that can be exported from activated Omniscopes (but not the free Viewer) to documents and web pages. Using the DataPlayer workspace in Omniscope, anyone can create universally-accessible Flash DataPlayers that everyone can interact with - in both documents and web pages. Currently, exported DataPlayers do not scale up to contain as many rows and columns as Omniscope files will, but future versions of DataPlayers will contain ever-increasing amounts of data, as discussed here.

How are DataPlayers used?

DataPlayers are totally configurable to match both their purpose (management 'dashboards', product selectors for websites or catalogues, interactive indices for online document/file archives, etc.) and the look and feel of the web pages and documents into which they will be inserted. The number of DataPlayer view types is continuously increasing. Click on the screenshots below to see examples of different view type configurations and experience live, interactive DataPlayers.

How can I display DataPlayers?

Insert DataPlayers into your documents...

Extend the reach of your data by converting Omniscope-managed data sets, images, maps and links into interactive DataPlayers inserted in common document formats like PowerPoint, Excel,  & Acrobat .PDF. Delivering more data in fewer, more visual and interactive pages will improve any 'dashboard' or slide presentation.

 Click for examples:

PowerPoint (.PPT)

PowerPoint (.PPS)

Excel (.XLS)

Acrobat (.PDF)

Note: DataPlayers only display interactively when the PowerPoint file is in Slide Show mode. Some users' browsers may automatically display the PowerPoint file directly. If you download and save the .PPT, you can edit the file, but must press F5 (or the Slide Show mode icon at bottom left) before the DataPlayers will open. If you download and save the .PPS Slide Show file, the embedded DataPlayers will load and display instantly, but you cannot edit and re-save the document.

Upload DataPlayers to web pages...

Add compelling Flash product selectors, interactive catalogues and Google map overlays ("mash-ups") to websites in minutes. Offer your web site visitors richer, more informative web pages with quick access to details while writing much less navigational scripting and coding and shifting load from your web servers to client machines.
